A study by the UK Government’s Office of National Statistics between 2013 and 2020 found that employees who mainly worked from home were 38% less likely to have received a bonus than those who worked on site. With women more likely to work from home than men, this bias could be a worrying trend, particularly in the tech sector where, in a developed economy such as the UK, only 20% of workers are female.
