CEO’s Message

Joe Channer – Welcome to this first edition of the Delta Capita newsletter. The purpose of the newsletter is to provide our global team with regular updates on company performance and other key business and organisation developments.

After a difficult few years in the FS consulting sector we have seen a significant increase in market activity during 2017 as clients ramp up efforts to deliver on major regulatory deadlines and start to turn their investment intentions towards business growth and digitisation. I’m pleased to say that Delta Capita has capitalised on this change with contracted revenues up 135% at £14m for the year. Whilst this business growth has largely come from our UK business we have seen improvements across our global platform and all business lines, with noticeable gains in technology consulting and managed services. I have also been very encouraged that we secured repeat business with our established clients whilst adding many new client accounts globally, including Rabobank, RBC, BGC, Danske, Barclays, Investec, First Rand and NED bank. Further, our expansion into South Africa and Asia has also made good progress this year and we expect both locations to be self-funding and accelerating as we move in to next year.

Overall this is a remarkable performance and we should all feel very proud of this achievement. I would like to thank you all for the hard work and commitment that has made this possible.

Corporate Branding – Design Ideas

Corporate Branding

Bimal Umeria – As part of the further professionalisation of our business we are looking at our branding and image. Having consulted with three agencies, we have selected the one which understood the most about who we are and our vision for the firm we want to be.

We have started the process of understanding what our brand should represent including a company wide survey that you would have recently participated in. We will keep you updated. Check out the graphic for some of the early design work.

Golden Circle & Town Hall

Lindsay Jones – Why do we do it? Simon Sinek, ethnographer and author of “Start With Why: How Great Leaders Inspire Everyone to Take Action”, suggests that the vision of a business is what influences customers and clients; “why do we do what we do”? The “what” and the “how” are important, but secondary and rational. The concept Simon developed is known as the Golden Circle (see graphic).

Delta Capita’s vision is what makes us unique-not our propositions. We are often asked by potential customers, who our competitors are? I believe the answer to this is “there is no one like us, our vision is unique”. Rather than being a competitor to other companies, we should be our own competitor so we can grow stronger and become one of the influential players in the market.

I’m thrilled to be writing this post, in our first UK newsletter. It has been a year of “firsts” and record breaking for Delta Capita, with the trends continuing into 2018.

Town Hall

We are excited to announce that we will be holding our first “Town Hall” on Fri 15th December. This will be hosted by our CEO Joe Channer, who will provide an update on business performance and strategy. We will also be using the opportunity to discuss our ‘DNA’ as an organisation, getting input from all actual and virtual attendees on what working here means to us, the culture and what makes us unique. In addition there will be updates from all the regional heads and business lines.

This is a fantastic opportunity to look back at what we have done this year and how we have achieved our successes; but more importantly, to look forward and commit to a shared vision for the year ahead. Please ensure that you can attend-we need your contributions to assist Delta Capita in moving forward-and to help us answer the all-important question “why do we do it?”.

I look forward to seeing you all there-and coming together in continuing to make Delta Capita a great place to work.

Christmas Party

It’s almost time for the Christmas Party; this year this will be on Friday 15th December in London. We look forward to seeing you there.

Rat Race

We will be entering the next London Rat Race in August 2018; this is a 10km run in Central London… but so much more! Part water challenge, part endurance challenge, part obstacle course – the event promises to be memorable and above all a lot of FUN! If you are interested, please speak to Matt Maher who is coordinating our 2018 entry and will be competing in fancy dress!

Health & Wellbeing

We are keen to ensure our workplaces are as productive and healthy as possible; in the London Office we have recently run a wellbeing and stress awareness day, where all staff were offered the chance to attend group workshops and have one to one sessions with a trained healer, and will be looking to follow this up with further initiatives. We are also offering all permanent employees flu vaccinations and our health insurance policy also covers treatment by homeopaths, acupuncturists and other therapists.

New Office for London

London Office Update

Earlier this year, the London team moved to new premises to accommodate our increasing numbers; we are based in Canary Wharf, so are conveniently close to many of our clients and lots of great amenities. The new offices also allow us to host client meetings and receptions. In order to make the most of the new office we have already had several work social events and are looking forward to many more!

Amsterdam Office Update

Things have been very exciting in the Amsterdam office; we are very pleased to welcome three new starters: Roeland, Wouter E and Merve and to welcome back Sophie from her secondment in the UK.

We have been busy meeting new clients and securing new work, and are pleased that the DC name is increasingly garnering a strong reputation. To that end, Onno is presenting at EuroEvents, a conference on life insurance and pensions taking place in Amsterdam on 16-17 November. You can view a precis of his talk on the Marketing Page of OneDC.

Rolling the pineapple!

APAC Offices Update

Rolling the pineapple in Asia Pacific

We were delighted to follow the Hokkien tradition of “rolling the pineapple” into our new Singapore office at Marina One.  For the last 18 months we have had no windows, so are very happy to be “seeing the light” as we take on new client engagements in both Singapore and Hong Kong going into 2018.

Our new address is: 7 Straits View, #05-01 Marina One East Tower, Singapore 018936

Johannesburg Office Update

2017 presented us with the opportunity to welcome Caitlyn, Liezl and Heinrich to the growing Jo’burg team.

On the consulting side, our efforts have focussed on building the DC brand within the Jo’burg based banks and has resulted in the conclusion of MSAs with two of the major banking groups. We have been considered for various RFPs and other client engagements with various banks, insurance companies and exchanges and are currently participating in an RFP for a short term insurance system.

On the Managed Services side, our competency as a team continues to grow and our service is consistently being refined. Our greatest accomplishment has undoubtedly been the team that we’ve forged.

I would like to thank the Jo’burg team for all their efforts during 2017 and look forward to celebrating our accomplishments with you all in 2018.
